You can observe the panoramic views of marvelous mountains from the top of Pangsang Pass. Trekking trail to ruby valley is between Langtang National Park and Manaslu Conservation Area Project. Ganga Jamuna River, twin waterfalls, kalo seto kunda, hot spring, ganesh kunda, and tripurasundari temple are the other main beautiful attractions of this trek. The region offers you very peaceful environment than that of the famous Annapurna and Everest Trek. Trail takes you through the main popular rock climbing destinations i.e Deul Danda, Gobre Village, Chaap Danda and Bhandari Bhir. From there, you can have the scenic views of lush green forests below the amazing mountainous chain.

Day 1
Arrival in the Kathmandu [altitude 1340 m] at the Tribhuvan international airport (TIA)

After your arrival in Kathmandu a representative from sunrise Adventure Trek, who reached there before an hour of your landing time, takes you to your hotel. At evening, we join a small briefing program of your trip to Ganesh Himal at Sunrise Adventure Trek.

Day 2
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, (1503m/ 4931 ft.), 6 to 7 hours.

We take an early drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi where we get an adventurous ride in Lantang region. During this we get to explore the beautiful villages of Syabrubesi via passing Dhunche. The scenic drive to Syabrubesi includes spectacular views of stunning mountains like Ganesh, Langtang Ri, Langtang Lirung, Naya Kangma, Dorje Lakpa, green forests and local lifestyles of people from different ethnic communities following different customs, values.

Day 3
Drive from Syabrubesi to Chawatar and then trek to Gatlang, (2238m/ 7342 ft.), 5 to 6 hours trek and 1 hour drive.

Syabrubesi is the starting point of our trek. First we drive from Syabrubesi to Chawatar for 1 hour. And now, passing the Bahun Danda Pass, we descend to Tamang village of Gatlang. During this, we pass through Chilime Khola and Thambuchet Valley. We explore the land of Tamang village, and get to know the daily living style of Tamang people. We can closely analyze the traditions and rituals followed by people of this region. Along with we explore the amazing craftsmanship of old people. Above the views of beautiful villages, we can see the amazing “Parvati Kunda”, the sacred holy lake.

Day 4
Trek from Gatlang to Parvati Kunda, Patvati Kunda to Yuri Kharka and again from Yuri Kharka to Somdang, (3271m/ 10731 ft.), 6 to 7 hours.

Trekking from Gatlang to Parvati Kunda at first, on the way we get a chance to observe the fascinating lake called “Parvati Kunda”. Many pilgrims surround the lake during the festival of Janai Purnima. After this, crossing through the rhododendron and pine forests, the trail leads us to Khurpu Bhanjyang, passing Yuri Kharka. Now, we trek through the trail, which act as the border between Rasuwa and Dhading district. Trekking tail takes us down to Somdang River.

Day 5
Trek from Somdang to Pangsang Pass at 3842m/ 12604 ft. within three and half an hour.

Trekking takes you to the naturally blessed region of Ganesh Himal. From Pangsang Kharka, we observe the panoramic views of mountains and villages to the southwest Somdang village and stunning Himalayan ranges of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal to the northern side. Walking through the green meadows, you get to observe different herbal plants exchanged in previous time with Tibetan people.

Day 6
Trek from Pangsang Pass to Tupling, from Tupling to Shertung and from Shertung to Chalish, (1875m/ 6151 ft.), 5 to 6 hours.

Now, we descend to Tupling from Pangsang Pass where we get to observe the beautiful Gombas and Church along the trail. Continues descending downward we pass through Adha Khola and climb up to Shertung and Chalish. Here, we observe the terraced fields and warm settlements of Shertung people. Shertung means “Place of gold”. The name reflects its own story; two brothers in search of gold led here by a dream, thus the name formed. As the region is influenced by Tibetan culture, we can closely explore their cultures and traditions. In this region “Jhankari” tradition is very famous where people worship the local indigenous dieties with natural forces according to Hindu and Buddhists practices. Then, we reach Chalish and see the different customs of different people. We observe living style of Gurung people with their traditions and unique dance called “Ghatu”. On the other hand the dances you attend in Shertung, Tibetan Tamang village is “Shaman and Horse Dance”.

Day 7
Trek from Chalish to Hindung or Gomba Danda, (2402m/ 7880 ft.), 4 to 5 hours.

Trekking from Chalish first takes us to downhill. Passing the Manchet Khola, we steeply trek up to Hindung. During the trail we pass by small farm lands, lush green forests and small streams. We explore Hindung, the Tamang Village and traditions of people living there. Hindung is the last village at Ganesh Himal Base Camp. Here, walking along the trail we can observe prayer flags and mani walls somewhere.

Day 8
Trek from Hindung to Thulo Dhunga, (3337m/ 10948 ft.), 4 to 5 hours.

As the region is mainly rich in wild floras and faunas, you rarely found firm terraces. Trail offers amazing wild habitats like musk deer, wild boar, jharal, langur, leopard etc. We pass continuously through the forest filled with rhododendron, juniper and many wild flowers, pine and bamboo trees. We can also observe the waterfalls cascading on the way.

Day 9
Trek from Thulo Dhunga to Base Camp/ Nojet Kharka, (3691m/ 12109 ft.), 6 hours trekking.

Passing the green forests, trail offers us marvelous views of stunning mountains and takes us to flat valley and camping site in Nojet Kharka. This plane seasonal grazing area provides splendid moments of your life.

Day 10
Acclimatization day at Base Camp

On this day, we take a rest and explore in Base Camp. We get to observe the marvelous views of stunning mountains from Dobra Danda at northeast ridge of Ganesh Himal. Along with this we explore the beautiful small two lakes called as “Seto Kunda” and “Kalo Kunda”. The surface of Kalo Kunda is covered by black stones whereas the surface of Seto Kunda is covered by white shining stones. The scenery pasture around the lakes offers you unforgettable memories of your life.

Day 11
Trek back from Base Camp to Hindung, 7 to 8 hours Trek

Now trekking the same way back to Gomba Danda, offers the previous amazing views of mountains, streams and lush green forests. Walking downhill with rhododendron flowers on the way is very pleasing.

Day 12
Trek from Hindung to Hot spring and again from Hot Spring to Rachyat Gaon/ Kapur Gaon, (1500m/ 4921 ft.), 5 to 6 hours trek.

We trek to Hot Spring to relax our body and mind. Trekking to southern Tato Pani River we get to see the riverside hot springs with a bathing pool and three taps. From here we trek to Rachyat Gaon through stone steps. All the way down to Nheber village, we explore the local lifestyles on the way.

Day 13
Trek from Rachyat to Lapa and from Lapa to Khading Gaon, (2025m, 6643 ft.), 4 to 5 hours trek.

We walk along the stone steps, built by Kadooriw Agri Aid Association & British Gurkhas. They are playing a great role in upgrading the trails and maintaining local infrastructures. We pass the Gurung village of Rachyat. Trekking down to Ankhu Khola we pass through Tir. Crosiing the suspension bridge over the Ankhu Khola we finally arrive in Lapa. Lapa is a huge committee of Tamang people. So, here we get to explore the traditions and values of Tamang culture. Above Lapa we found Khading, the largest Gurung Village of this region. We explore the unique traditions of Gurung people and different forms of dances perform by them.

Day 14
Trek from Khading Gaon to Magne Goth, (2950m/ 9678 ft.), 4 hours walking.

We steeply walk upward to the west and pass through the beautiful pine forests filled with rhododendron flowers. Walking through the trail we observe the place of ruby extraction. At the top the blue pine forest is Magne Goth. It takes 4 to 5 hours to reach there.

Day 15
Trek from Magne Goth to Lapu Danda, (1250m/ 4101 ft.), 5 to 6 hours trek.

From Magne Goth to reach Lapu Danda we walk through the Gorkha district. Trekking to the downhill first we cross the Chote Khola and pass through the lush green forests and rhododendron flowers. Walking takes us down to the valley where we explore the amazing views of mountains including western range of Manaslu. Walking for some times enter us into the Dhading district, pass by the beautiful small villages of Kartunje, Dhorjet and Manbu. Reaching at Lapu Danda, we observe the Brahmin community with their different traditions and cultures. Terraced field surrounding the locality with Himalayan views of Shringi and Himal Chuli peaks is very beautiful.

Day 16
Trek from Laphi Danda to Ganga Jamuna, (950m/ 3116 ft.), 5 to 6 hours trek.

Ganga Jamuna is the most exciting attraction of Ganesh Himal Ruby Valley Trek. We climb up to Dandagaon through the terraced fields of Baseri. Walking along the trail with great mountainous view of Mt. Manaslu and many others, takes us to the amazing twin waterfalls known as Ganga Jamuna.

Day 17
Trek from Ganga Jamuna to Tripurasundari, (850m/ 2788 ft.), 5 to 6 hours trek.

Trek is quite easy and interesting as we pass from the hilly paddy lands and the community mixed with different ethnic cultures. Most of all we get to observe the daily lifestyle of Brahmin people with their different customs and values. The lower terrain views with Manaslu range and Ankhu Khola makes the trip more pleasant.

Day 18
Drive from Tripurasundari to Kathmandu, drive 5 to 6 hours.

We take a drive from Tripurasundari to Kathmandu for 5 to 6 hours. On the way we get to observe the Himalayan views and local cultures of people from different ethnic communities. Trekking to Ganesh Himal is very famous along the pilgrims as well. The region and the trekking trail contain the beautiful sacred lakes, temples and waterfalls. After arriving at Kathmandu, the company “Sunrise Adventure Treks” offers you the evening meal and cultural program.

Day 19
Derparture/ Farewell!!

Today is your departure from Nepal to your home town. A representative from Sunrise Adventure Treks takes you at the international airport before 3 hours of your departing time. Trekking Group Size

We organize trekking in Langtang region for any number of people. If the group consists of more than 16 pax, we will split the group and arrange accordingly. We will assign one trek leader, one assistant leader for the group of four pax and porters (one porter between two members) to carry members luggage. This arrangement ensures that the group can still go ahead as scheduled itinerary despite any member gets sick on the way in the trekking.

Experience and Health Requirements

Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trekking ranges from easy to strenuous trek suitable for those who can hike for 6 – 8 hours a day. Obviously hiking in the high altitude will not be so easy rather physically more demanding, however our itinerary is scheduled for the proper acclimatization while gradually gaining the altitude in the trekking. It will be advisable to have some walking and hiking or other outdoor activities for more than two weeks which will contribute to comfortable accomplishment in reaching there. No technical skills or use of crampons are required for this trekking. It is highly recommended for the trekkers to consult with the doctors before coming for this trekking. Trekkers who have asthma, allergy or any other diseases related to hurt, lungs should take more precaution for this trekking.

Travel Insurance

Trekkers need to have traveling insurance which covers the comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and medical treatment costs). Insurance companies in Nepal do not provide travelling insurance for the foreigners and the trekkers need to get the travelling insurance from one of the international insurance companies. Sunrise Adventure Trek will have accident insurance for the trekking staff.

Accommodations

Accommodation in Kathmandu will be arranged on twin sharing basis on BB plan except the extra cost for the single supplement (depending on the room availability) according to the choice of the standard of the hotels before and after the trekking. Accommodation during the trekking will be arranged at standard tea houses/ lodges with unheated rooms with wooden beds and foam mattresses on twin sharing basis. The trekkers will have to share washing and toilet facilities. If the trekker is a solo traveler, he/she will have to share a room with the trekker of same sex.

Meals

Trekkers are provided three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during Langtand Gosainkunda Helambu trekking. They can enjoy wide variety of food from typical Nepali food, Sherpa food, and Tibetan food to all types of international cuisine (Continental, Italian, and Indian). Unlike other trekking companies, Sunrise Adventure Trek allows trekkers to choose the food from the menu at the hotel / lodges in the trek. When the group is too big for the hotels/ lodges to provide individual dishes, set menu will be arranged in most places. We use the lodges / hotels which serve hygienic, nutritious and good food for the trekkers for them to get enough energy for the hiking.

Acclimatization

Any trekker can get altitude sickness while trekking in the high altitude despite strong physically fitness. What is important is giving enough time for the proper acclimatization for the trekking. Sunrise Adventure Trek has planned the itinerary with gradual altitude gain giving enough time for acclimatization for the trekkers. Hiking slowly specially in the high altitude help prevent AMS ( Acute Mountain Sickness ). If anyone feels dizzy, suffer palpitation or severe headaches and loss of appetite, he / she will be moved to the lower altitude immediately or arrange the helicopter rescue in the severe case of AMS and the client has to pay for it.

Equipment and Packing List

A variety of clothing is necessary for the Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trek. While choosing the equipment trekkers need give emphasis on two simple aspects: Lightweight and Functional. The items should be lightweight, dependable, and adaptable to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The quality of the trekking equipment you choose has a lot to do with how warm, dry, and safe you will remain. For this reason you have to be critical of quality and the proper fit of clothing.

All trekking staff of Sunrise Adventure Trek are locally employed and have the adequate knowledge about culture, ecosystem, flora, fauna, geography, history and the safety measures in running the trips. Their attitude and the efforts will be always concentrated on the less impact of the trekkers to the local culture, custom, nature and the Eco system.

Porter Care

We are strongly committed to the porters rights. We make sure that they are well paid and have the proper clothing, foot ware and shelter. We are aware that no porter should be asked to carry a load that is too heavy for their physical abilities and the weight limit should be adjusted for altitude, weather and trail condition. We request our members not to have more than 15 kg weight of luggage to give to the porters. Porters who become sick while in the trekking are treated with high priority just like the other trekking staff or the members. If needed helicopter is sent and rescued in case of sever condition of sickness or accident. All porters are insured for sickness and accident.

Season

Nepal, as a tourist destination is good for all seasons, however, the best seasons for trekking to Langtang region are Spring (March – May) and Autumn (mid Sept. – mid Dec. ). Trekking in autumn season is noted for clear weather and excellent views of silvery mountains against blue sky. It gets colder towards the end of December. This trek can be done in any month except January and February.
