Trek begins from the ancient city of Kathmandu; drive to Syabrubesi it’s the starting point of your trek. There is an interesting village on the banks of the Bhote Kosi River. The trail gains elevation as you make your way along the Langtang Khola, first through forests of oak and rhododendron and then bamboo forests on the higher reaches of the trail.  For the day tour you can do Lantang Gosaikunda heli tourTraveling through Langtang (3,430m/11,253ft), you will reach the Langtang valley and the friendly Sherpa village of Kyanjing Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft).
 
Although, in Kyanjing Gompa you will experience the spiritual lifestyle of dedicated Buddhist monks. Monks perform their rituals in a beautiful Monastery dating back to the eras of 1300 A.D.Early in the morning you will ascend Tserko Ri (5,000m/16,404ft). See the tremendous view of the Langtang Lirung (7,200m/23,622ft) range. A short hike is taken to the magnificent glacial moraine (4,300m/14,107ft), which can be climbed depending on the time factor and offers more spectacular views of Langtang Lirung. our trek starting from Syabrubesi and ending at Dhunce.
You can also get the opportunity of visiting a traditional cheese factory, where the production is done by hand. Once in Chadan Bari (3,330m/10,925ft), having traveled through Lama Hotel.. You can enjoy magnificent views of the towering snow-covered Ganesh Himal (7,600m/24,934ft) and Langtang -II (7,227m/23,711ft) peaks. In some days you can spot the shy Red Panda that inhabits the Langtang region. Moving on to Gosainkund, you can watch the sunrise over a multitude of glistening Lakes of this sacred pilgrimage site. It is believed that Lord Shiva created the holy lake with his trident. After Laurebinayak pass (4,609m/15,121ft) you will trek through beautiful rice terraces and a number of splendid Buddhist monasteries around the delightful villages of Tarke Gyang and Sermathang (2,621m/8,599ft). After this entire adventurous journey, finally, it’s time to drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 1
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Altitude: 1,350m/4,428ft – Namaste and Welcome to Kathmandu, our Sunrise Adventure Trek airport representative will welcome you to the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Take some rest and at evening we will give you short briefing or further details of the trip program.

Day 2
Day 02: Kathmandu to Shabrubeshi (1460m). 7-9hrs drive

We climb up to the Trishuli valley through twisted roads and continue to Betrawoti. During the trail you get to observe the exciting sceneries with lush green forests and excellent views of Annapurna ranges along with Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. Besides this, we pass through the enchanting rivers and colorful villages with many people from different ethnic communities. Here we get to observe the old stone houses built with large stones by ancient people. After we arrive to Dhunche we will visit Langtang National Park.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Day 3
Day 03: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2560m) – 5 hrs

Today we start our trek to Lama Hotel with early breakfast. Ascending through the forest and along the river bank, the trail takes us to Bamboo Village where we stay for some time and have lunch. After lunch and some rest, we descend down through the beautiful forests with rhododendron flowers. On the way we cross the small suspension bridge of Langtang Khola and walking by the trail in a few hours we reach to Lama Hotel for overnight stay.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Day 4
Day 04: Lama Hotel to Langtang valley (3455m)

From Lama Hotel we trek to Ghora Tabela first, passing beautiful forests filled with rhododendron flowers and attractive oaks plus maple trees. We take a rest and have our lunch here in Ghora Tabela. Then we trek to Langtang valley, which is in habituated by Buddhists and Tibetans. So, the region offers a great chance to closely understand Tibetan culture. Along with this we observe excellent views of Himalayas and old monasteries on the way.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Day 5
Day 05: Langtang to Kyanjing Gompa(3817m)

We trek to Kyanjin Gompa one of the main features of exploring this region. Following the Himalayan sceneries, we continue our journey and pass by crossing many stones. During this we observe ancient stuffs like: water mills, chortens and prayer wheels in monastery and after walking for some hours we reach Kyanjin Gompa. Where we will have lunch and stay for a night. Mt. Ganchemo and Langtang are some mountains you can see from here.

Day 6
Day 06: Explore around the Kyanjing Gompa

Kyanjing Gompa is famous for cheese factory and monastery. So, you can take a day to explore around the valley and surrounding or you can hire a guide and go Kyanjing-ri or the northern part of the glacier to enjoy the views. Kyanjin Gompa is one of the tourist’s attractions which offer you beautiful moments of your life.

Day 7
Day07: Kyanjin Gompa to Ghodatabela(3020m)

Today we take our journey back to Ghodatabela through the panoramic views of mountains and rhododendron flowers in lush green forests. We take our lunch here and descend down via the same way.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Day 8
Day 08: Ghodatabela to Bamboo Village (2145m)

Again from Ghoda tabela we trek back to Bamboo Village with the same remarkable views and scenery of mountains and green trees.

Day 9
Day 09: Bamboo to Thuloshyabru(2228m)

From Bamboo village we walk for few hours and reach to Lama Hotel for overnight stay. This is little long day walking but it is worth it. Firstly we trek down to the bank of Langtang River. Then again we climb uphill through landslide area of rock and boulders. Then passing through farm terraces and bridges we reach Tholo Syabru where we can get to see monastery.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Day 10
Day 10: Thuloshyabru to Sing Gompa(3250m)

Climbing uphill we gain more height as we reach Singh Gompa after passing through alpine forest and rhododendrons and farmlands. During the trip we can see superb view of Ganesh-Himal, Manaslu, Langtang and Annapurna range also. This is a short walk with scenic views which also helps us to acclimatize with high altitude.

Day 11
Day 11: Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda(4397m)

Today we trek from Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda which offers us spectacular views of mountain ranges of Langtang and Ganesh-Himal on the North West. The trail gradually gains altitude and leads us to the woodland of oaks, pines and rhododendrons and then we reach to Gosaikunda after a short walk. Gosaikunda is considered as one of the holy lakes in Nepal where many Hindu pilgrims come to change their holy thread. Janai Purnima which falls in August is the main festival celebrated in Gosaikunda.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Day 12
Day 12: Goshaikunda to Dhunche(2030m)

Gosaikunda to Dhunche is an exciting trek offering many mountainous views and settlements of local people from the different community with their traditional and religious values.

Day 13
Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu by local bus

We drive back to Kathmandu by local bus. And get to remark the views that we observe for the first time while driving from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi via Dhunche. Arrive at your hotel and take some rest or do shopping for rest of the day. At evening join the evening meal and cultural program offer by the company (Sunrise Adventure Treks).

Day 14
Day 14: Departure

Trekking Group Size

We organize trekking in Langtang region for any number of people. If the group consists of more than 16 pax, we will split the group and arrange accordingly. We will assign one trek leader, one assistant leader for the group of four pax and porters (one porter between two members) to carry members luggage. This arrangement ensures that the group can still go ahead as scheduled itinerary despite any member gets sick on the way in the trekking.

Experience and Health Requirements

Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trekking ranges from easy to strenuous trek suitable for those who can hike for 6 – 8 hours a day. Obviously hiking in the high altitude will not be so easy rather physically more demanding, however our itinerary is scheduled for the proper acclimatization while gradually gaining the altitude in the trekking. It will be advisable to have some walking and hiking or other outdoor activities for more than two weeks which will contribute to comfortable accomplishment in reaching there. No technical skills or use of crampons are required for this trekking. It is highly recommended for the trekkers to consult with the doctors before coming for this trekking. Trekkers who have asthma, allergy or any other diseases related to hurt, lungs should take more precaution for this trekking.

Travel Insurance

Trekkers need to have traveling insurance which covers the comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and medical treatment costs). Insurance companies in Nepal do not provide travelling insurance for the foreigners and the trekkers need to get the travelling insurance from one of the international insurance companies. Sunrise Adventure Trek will have accident insurance for the trekking staff.

Accommodations

Accommodation in Kathmandu will be arranged on twin sharing basis on BB plan except the extra cost for the single supplement (depending on the room availability) according to the choice of the standard of the hotels before and after the trekking. Accommodation during the trekking will be arranged at standard teahouses/ lodges with unheated rooms with wooden beds and foam mattresses on twin sharing basis. The trekkers will have to share washing and toilet facilities. If the trekker is a solo traveler, he/she will have to share a room with the trekker of same sex.

Meals

Trekkers are provided three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during Langtand Gosainkunda Helambu trekking. They can enjoy wide variety of food from typical Nepali food, Sherpa food, and Tibetan food to all types of international cuisine (Continental, Italian, and Indian). Unlike other trekking companies, Sunrise Adventure Trek allows trekkers to choose the food from the menu at the hotel / lodges in the trek. When the group is too big for the hotels/ lodges to provide individual dishes, set menu will be arranged in most places. We use the lodges / hotels which serve hygienic, nutritious and good food for the trekkers for them to get enough energy for the hiking.

Acclimatization

Any trekker can get altitude sickness while trekking in the high altitude despite strong physically fitness. What is important is giving enough time for the proper acclimatization for the trekking. Sunrise Adventure Trek has planned the itinerary with gradual altitude gain giving enough time for acclimatization for the trekkers. Hiking slowly specially in the high altitude help prevent AMS ( Acute Mountain Sickness ). If anyone feels dizzy, suffer palpitation or severe headaches and loss of appetite, he / she will be moved to the lower altitude immediately or arrange the helicopter rescue in the severe case of AMS and the client has to pay for it.

Equipment and Packing List

A variety of clothing is necessary for the Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trek. While choosing the equipment trekkers need give emphasis on two simple aspects: Lightweight and Functional. The items should be lightweight, dependable, and adaptable to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The quality of the trekking equipment you choose has a lot to do with how warm, dry, and safe you will remain. For this reason you have to be critical of quality and the proper fit of clothing.

All trekking staff of Sunrise Adventure Trek are locally employed and have the adequate knowledge about culture, ecosystem, flora, fauna, geography, history and the safety measures in running the trips. Their attitude and the efforts will be always concentrated on the less impact of the trekkers to the local culture, custom, nature and the eco system.

Porter Care

We are strongly committed to the porters rights. We make sure that they are well paid and have the proper clothing, foot ware and shelter. We are aware that no porter should be asked to carry a load that is too heavy for their physical abilities and the weight limit should be adjusted for altitude, weather and trail condition. We request our members not to have more than 15 kg weight of luggage to give to the porters. Porters who become sick while in the trekking are treated with high priority just like the other trekking staff or the members. If needed helicopter is sent and rescued in case of sever condition of sickness or accident. All porters are insured for sickness and accident.

Best Season

Nepal, as a tourist destination is good for all seasons, however, the best seasons for trekking to Langtang region are Spring (March – May) and Autumn (mid Sept. – mid Dec. ). Trekking in autumn season is noted for clear weather and excellent views of silvery mountains against blue sky. It gets colder towards the end of December. This trek can be done in any month except January and February.

  • 1. How difficult is trek to Langtang, Gosaikunda, Helambu and how can we prepare?

    Trekking to Langtang region is an easy trek as compared to others with various beautiful floras and faunas. And our company also provides well skilled guides and potters to help you during the trek. People with weak ankles, lungs, hearts problems may suffer more difficulty on trekking. Well preparation is needed for every trek.

  • 2. What about safety measurements and altitude sickness do the guides and porters have their insurance in Langtang, Gosaikunda, Helambu trek?

    Worrying for safety measurements?  Our guides having long experience are much professional for handling such issues with various means of safety measurements. For common health issues like: headache, common cold, diarrhea, vomiting, we provide you first aid medicines. In case of being sick in the mountain, Sunrise Adventure Trek will make proper arrangements rescue by helicopter, for this you should have better travel insurance. If our guide and porters may suffer from sickness, they have also travel and medical insurance and we will also rescue by helicopter.

  • 3. What about guide & porter, do they have well training?

    Guides and potters provided to our guests had complete accomplishment of several trainings required for their professions by the Ministry of Nepal Tourism. Having well experience in tourism sector as a guide or potter, make easy to explain all the information required for trekking and can create very familiar environment to the guests.

  • 4. What about communication system during trek?

    As all the porters and guides are well certified by the Ministry of Nepal tourism they can easily understand and speak English languages during the trek. On the other hand, we can also provide you guides and potters according to your own understanding languages.

  • 5. Do I need to give tips to guide and potter and if how much?

    It’s difficult to mention about tipping which is up to your happiness, but guides and potters do expect the tips at the end of the trip. However, normally people can give minimum 10% of their total payment to the guide and porter.

  • 6. What kind of food, drinking water and accommodation do we have on Langtang, Gosaikunda and Helambu trek?

    Trek to Langtang region with Sunrise Adventure Trek includes trekking lodges or guest houses as accommodation with twin bed sharing room, if you are in a group and if you are solo traveler, you have private room.  Regarding meals, we will have some options to choose like: continental foods, Italian, Indian and Chinese cuisine etc. For drinking water, you can buy the mineral bottles or safe drinking water from hotel either you can bring water tablets.

  • 7. How many hours should I walk per day and what happened if I am a slow walker in the group?

    Normally, we have to walk around 5 to 7 hours per day, if you are slow in walk the team leader will professionally manage to you walking with our assistance guide and potter.
