Lhasa Kharta Cum EBC Trek

Trek to Kharta valley provides you amazing moments of your life, exploring stunning views of marvelous mountains and local environment of people with their different unique cultures and customs. Observing the amazing green forest, surrounded by Himalayas like: Mt.Makalu, Mt.Everest, Pethangtse, Lhotse and other mountains makes the trek very much interesting.

The Kharta Valley trek, is a beautiful Alpine Lakes and spectaculars mountain views. With the scenario of   the beautiful valleys.

The trek from Kharta to Khangseung, the eastern part of the Everest, is one of the most gorgeous in the world. The entire region from Kharta to the Karma valley, extending to the Arun valley in Nepal, is a part of the blessed land of Guru Rinpoche, known as “Belyul Khebalung” or the hidden valley.

Kharta trek starts from Kharta valley 140 km southeast from Xegar. From there we head for Khangseung face via Karma Valley which has views of such giants as Mt.Makalu, Mt.Everest, Pethangtse, Lhotse and other mountains.

Day 1
Kathmandu - Lhasa

We take flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa and then transfer to Hotel for overnight stay. Complete rest day for acclimatization.

Day 2

Today you will be engrossed with sightseeing and excursion of the Potala Palace, The Jokhang Temple, surrounding Barkhor market area, Drepung and Sera monasteries. Later overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 3

Day 4
Lhasa - Gyantse

Drive to Gyantse crossing the Khambala pass (5200m) and via the Lake Yamdrok Tso. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 5
Gyantse- Xigatse

After breakfast visit the Palkhor Monastery and the Khumbum stupa. After lunch drive to Xigatse for 1 hr and visit the famous Tashi Lumpo Monastery and the local Xigatse bazaar. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 6
Xigatse - Tingri

Drive to Tingri. Overnight in Guest House.

Day 7
Tingri - Kharta

Drive for approx 7 hrs. Overnight in Camp.

Day 8
Rest Day at Kharta

Rest day at Kharta. Overnight in Camp.

Day 9
Trek from Kharta to Dampu Camp

Trek for 3 hour from Kharta to Dampu Camp. Overnight in Camp.

Day 10
Trek from Dampu Camp to Dhou Lake Camp

Trek for 3-4 hour from Dampu Camp to Dhou Lake Camp. Overnight in Camp.

Day 11
Trek from Dhou Lake Camp to Rzag Sham via Shoula Pass

Trek for 6-7 hours from Dhou Lake Camp to Rzag Sham via Shoula Pass (5160m).Overnight in Camp.

Day 12
Trek from Rzag Sham to Thangsum camp via Black Lake

Trek for 4-5 hours from Rzag Sham to Thangsum camp via Black Lake. Overnight in Camp.

Day 13
Trek from Thangsum camp to Pathang Camp via Rapka

Trek for 4-5 hours from Thangsum camp to Pathang Camp via Rapka. Overnight in Camp.

Day 14
Trek from Pathang Camp to Pethang Ringmu

Trek for 5-6 hours from Pathang Camp to Pethang Ringmu. Overnight in Camp.

Day 15
Hiking around the Pethang Ringmu

Enjoy the panoramic views of Khang Shong Face, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Shartse and Qomolhunsom. Overnight in Camp.

Day 16
Trek from Pethang Ringmu to Rapka Camp

Trek for 3-4 hours from Pethang Ringmu to Rapka Camp. Overnight in Camp.

Day 17
Trek from Rapka Camp to Tso- Shouringma via High camp (4950m)

Trek from Rapka Camp to Tso- Shouringma via High camp. Overnight in Camp.

Day 18
Trek from High camp to Shoumai La Camp via Langma La Pass (5350m)

Trek for 7-8 hours from High camp to Shoumai La Camp via Langma La Pass (5350m). Overnight in Camp.

Day 19
Trek from Shoumai La Camp to Rongbuk

Trek 3 hours from Shoumai La Camp to Rongbuk and Camp.

Day 20
Trek from Rongbuk to Everest Base Camp and back to Rongbuk

Drive to Rongbuk and walk upto the Everest Base Camp. After visiting the EBC you will walk back to Rongbuk. The back and forth walk will take 5 hours. Overnight in Camp or Guest House.

Day 21
Rongbuk to Nylam

Drive from Rongbuk to Nylam for 8 hours.Overnight in Guest House.

Day 22
Nylam - Zhamghu- Kathmandu

Drive to Zhangmu for 3 hours and after completion of the immigration formalities in Zhangmu you will drive back to Kathmandu.

  • 1. How difficult is trek to Everest Panorama and how can we prepare?

    Trekking to Everest Panorama is an easy trek as compared to others. And our company also provides well skilled guides and potters to help you during the trek. People with weak ankles, lungs, hearts problems may suffer more difficulty on trekking. Well preparation is needed for every trek.

  • 2. What about safety measurements and altitude sickness do the guides and porters have their insurance in Everest Panorama trek?

    Worrying for safety measurements? Our guides having long experience are much professional for handling such issues with various means of safety measurements. For common health issues like: headache, common cold, diarrhea, vomiting, we provide you first aid medicines. In case of being sick in the mountain, Sunrise Adventure Trek will make proper arrangements rescue by helicopter, for this you should have better travel insurance. If our guide and porters may suffer from sickness, they have also travel and medical insurance and we will also rescue by helicopter.

  • 3. What about guide & porter, do they have well training?

    Guides and potters provided to our guests had complete accomplishment of several trainings required for their professions by the Ministry of Nepal Tourism. Having well experience in tourism sector as a guide or potter, make easy to explain all the information required for trekking and can create very familiar environment to the guests.

  • 4. What about communication system during trek?

    As all the porters and guides are well certified by the Ministry of Nepal tourism they can easily understand and speak English languages during the trek. On the other hand, we can also provide you guides and potters according to your own understanding languages.

  • 5. Do I need to give tips to guide and potter and if how much?

    It’s difficult to mention about tipping which is up to your happiness, but guides and potters do expect the tips at the end of the trip. However, normally people can give minimum 10% of their total payment to the guide and porter.

  • 6. What kind of food, drinking water and accommodation do we have on Everest Panorama trek?

    Trek to Everest Base Camp with Sunrise Adventure Trek includes trekking lodges or guest houses as accommodation with twin bed sharing room, if you are in a group and if you are solo traveler, you have private room. Regarding meals, we will have some options to choose like: continental foods, Italian, Indian and Chinese cuisine etc. For drinking water, you can buy the mineral bottles or safe drinking water from hotel either you can bring water tablets.

  • 7. How many hour should I walk per day and what happened if I am slow walker in the group?

    Normally, we have to walk around 5 to 7 hours per day, if you are slow in walk the team leader will professionally manage to you walking with our assistance guide and potter.

  • 8. What about the weather conditions and Lukla flight?

    Firstly, we have to take a flight to Lukla in the morning then we start trek from Lukla but sometimes due to the air traffic and weather problems, the flight may be delayed or canceled. Due to uncertainty of Lukla weather, we are not sure about untimed flight. If there will be frequent weather problem, we do arrange a flight by helicopter chopper and for this you have to pay additionally.

  • 9. What is the limitation of weight to Lukla flight and where do I store my extra bags?

    You can carry 10 kg luggage plus 5 kg hand bag and if you want to carry more than the limit you have to pay extra charges. You can keep your extra bags in your hotel or in the office in Kathmandu.
