Description

Nar Phu Valley with Thorong La Pass Trek to one of the restricted remote area of Nepal offers you a great chance to explore the sacred unknown culture and living style of local people. Here you can found the region influenced by Tibetan culture and also can get a great chance to explore the culture, their traditions, rituals, languages and beliefs. Trekking also provides you a great chance to explore the beautiful views of mountain ranges, presence of stunning Himalayas like: Annapurna, Manaslu, Lamjung, Tilicho etc. with amazing wildlife vegetation of this region. You can observe many endangered animals like: red panda, wild yaks, leopards, jackal etc. in beautiful forests of bamboo and pine.  The Great Himalaya Range , Mid hills, flora and fauna , Rivers,valleys, villages are the main highlights of this trek.

Itinerary

You are welcome to Kathmandu; our Sunrise Adventure Trek representative will welcome you in the airport then transfer to hotel and will give shortly brief further details of the trip program.

After breakfast, visit World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley which includes Swayambhunath Stupa / Monkey Temple, Bauddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. Then in the evening, you can prepare and double check you stuffs for incredible trekking experience.

After breakfast, we drive to Syange and on the way we can enjoy beautiful view of the different flora and fauna, rivers, country side and some Himalayas as well. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

After the refreshing journey, we now head toward Dharapani following the path of Syange (1136m.). From here we start our first trek with beautiful sceneries around us. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Ascending up, we move to Timang which is at the elevation of 2460 meters from where we can see views of Annapurna II and Manaslu Peak. Then along the forest we pass through Thanchok village and reach Koto. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Upto Koto we trek via the Annapurna Circuit trail and from here we split for another route. The trek passes through forest and reaches Nar River. Then we can see few caves and pilgrimages. The trail is also rocky and offers beautiful views of Lamjung Himal. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

We slowly gain altitude and land gets more and more barren. Through the village of Chyakhu and Kyang we can see herds of Yak and then we start climbing. Though, we need to descend to the Phu village for our stay there. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

It is very necessary to adapt ourselves in new environment for safe trekking. And for this, we acclimatize in Phu Village. Phu village is where you can see remains of fort called Dzong in Tibetan. There are numerous monastery, Yaks, sheeps and villagers doing their daily activities Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

From Phu village we trek further to Nar Vilage. Then we spend the day here enjoying the beautiful fields of Barley, Mustard and few Gompas. The village is very remote and people there engage themselves in spinning & weaving woolen clothes, carrying woods, grazing sheeps and yaks. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Today, the trek is meant to be tougher than other as we pass through the altitude of 5306 meters. And to mention the effort you make will be fruitful at the end. The path is steep and you get to see amazing view of mountain giants like Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tilicho and many others. Then we reach Ngawal after crossing Kangla Pass, Ngwal is village adored with the traditional architectural buildinga and mani walls placed with prayer wheels Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

From gwal, we head to Manang. The journey passes through the sparse forest straight for two hours and then we reach to Brage village. From there we descend to Manang village. Manang village is a busy marketplace with number of hotel and lodges. This is also the famous tourist area and you get to see many Gompas and better services there. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

This is a great moment for trekkers as we will be continuously gaining altitude while getting a wonderful chance to see horses and Yaks grazing here and there. We even have to cross some villages and rivers and encounter with Juniper forest. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

This day, we trek to the foot of Thorang La & we will have to climb uphill, cross a suspension bridge and ascend down a towering cliff. During the trek we are rewarded with t wonderful view of Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorung Peak & Mt. Khatungkang. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

From Thorang Phedi we finally will be heading to the top of our destination but before that we have to go through the words highest pass, Thorang La Pass. Celebrating our victory taking photo in top is guaranted to be amazing. Befor the evening we drive to Jomsom. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

We take flight to Pokhara from Jomsom. You can see mountain views while on the way. Then you can spend you days in Pokhara by doing sightseeing. It depends on the schedule of you flight. The flight is relatively short and well offering in case of scenery. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in hotel.

For the return trip two options are available, you can either take easy 25 minute flight to Kathmandu or take longer 7 hours of scenic drive to Kathmandu, the choice is yours. Both the means are great with beautiful mountain views during flight and fascinating views of landscapes in drive. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in hotel.

Today is the free day in Kathmandu, you can roam around the famous touristic area of Nepal, Thamel and buy souvenirs to take you home country. Meals included: dinner by our side and finally an overnight stay in hotel.

For departure day, you can either safely make return journey to home or you can join for another exciting adventure. And according to flight schedule you will be escorted to airport approximately 3 hours earlier to catch flight to your next destination.

  • Trekking Group Size

    We organize trekking in Annapurna region for any number of people. If the group consists of more than 16 pax, we will split the group and arrange accordingly. We will assign one trek leader, one assistant leader for the group of four pax and porters (one porter between two members ) to carry members luggage. This arrangement ensures that the group can still go ahead as scheduled itinerary despite any member gets sick on the way in the trekking.
  • Experience and Health Requirements

    Nar Phu Vallely & Thorang La Pass trekking is considered a moderate trek suitable for those who can hike for 6 – 8 hours a day. Obviously hiking in the high altitude will not be so easy rather physically more demanding, however our itinerary is scheduled for the proper acclimatization while gradually gaining the altitude in the trekking. It will be advisable to have some walking and hiking or other outdoor activities for more than two weeks which will contribute to comfortable accomplishment in reaching Annapurna base camp. No technical skills or use of crampons are required for this trekking. It is highly recommended for the trekkers to consult with the doctors before coming for this trekking. Trekkers who have asthma, allergy or any other diseases related to hurt, lungs should take more precaution for this trekking.
  • Travel Insurance

    Trekkers need to have traveling insurance which covers the comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and medical treatment costs). Insurance companies in Nepal do not provide travelling insurance for the foreigners and the trekkers need to get the travelling insurance from one of the international insurance companies. Sunrise Adventure Trek will have accident insurance for the trekking staff.
  • Accommodations

    Accommodation in Kathmandu will be arranged on twin sharing basis on BB plan except the extra cost for the single supplement (depending on the room availability ) according to the choice of the standard of the hotels before and after the trekking. Accommodation during the trekking will be arranged at standard teahouses/ lodges with unheated rooms with wooden beds and foam mattresses on twin sharing basis. The trekkers will have to share washing and toilet facilities. If the trekker is a solo traveler, he/she will have to share a room with the trekker of same sex.
  • Meals

    Trekkers are provided three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during Narphu Valley & Thorang La Pass trekking. They can enjoy wide variety of food from typical Nepali food, Sherpa food, Tibetan food to all types of international cuisine (Continental, Italian, and Indian.). Unlike other trekking companies, Sunrise AdventureTrek allows trekkers to choose the food from the menu at the hotel / lodges in the trek. When the group is too big for the hotels/ lodges to provide individual dishes, set menu will be arranged in most places. We use the lodges / hotels which serve hygienic, nutritious and good food for the trekkers for them to get enough energy for the hiking.
  • Acclimatization

    Any trekker can get altitude sickness while trekking in the high altitude despite strong physically fitness. What is important is giving enough time for the proper acclimatization for the trekking. Sunrise Adventure Trek has planned the itinerary with gradual altitude gain giving enough time for acclimatization for the trekkers. Hiking slowly specially in the high altitude help prevent AMS ( Acute Mountain Sickness ). If anyone feels dizzy, suffer palpitation or severe headaches and loss of appetite, he / she will be moved to the lower altitude immediately or arrange the helicopter rescue in the severe case of AMS and the client has to pay for it.

    A variety of clothing is necessary for the Narphu Valley & Thorang La Pass trek. While choosing the equipment trekkers need give emphasis on two simple aspects: Lightweight and Functional. The items should be lightweight, dependable, and adaptable to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The quality of the trekking equipment you choose has a lot to do with how warm, dry, and safe you will remain. For this reason you have to be critical of quality and the proper fit of clothing.

  • Porter Care

    We are strongly committed to the porters rights. We make sure that they are well paid and have the proper clothing, foot ware and shelter. We are aware that no porter should be asked to carry a load that is too heavy for their physical abilities and the weight limit should be adjusted for altitude, weather and trail condition. We request our members not to have more than 15 kg weight of luggage to give to the porters. Porters who become sick while in the trekking are treated with high priority just like the other trekking staff or the members. If needed helicopter is sent and rescued in case of sever condition of sickness or accident. All porters are insured for sickness and accident.
  • Season

    Nepal, as a tourist destination is good for all seasons, however, the best seasons for trekking to Annapurna region are Spring (March – May) and Autumn (mid Sept. – mid Dec. ). Trekking in autumn season is noted for clear weather and excellent views of silvery mountains against blue sky. It gets colder towards the end of December. This trek can be done in any month except January and February.
