1. Fewa Lake:-
Fewa lake of Pokhara is the most popular, beautiful and second largest lake in Nepal. Covering the area of about 4.43 sq. km has dept about 9 m average and maximum 24 m depth. Boating in this lake is the popular and attractive activities of the Pokhara. While boating you will get to explore the beautiful scenery of the green hills and mountain peaks. It also offers you the perfect photo spot. After these attractions, the lake also provides boating, sailing, kayaking, swimming, bird watching, etc.
Another attraction is the Tal Barahi Mandir and it lies on the lush island of Fewa lake. As the temple is situated just middle of the lake, it looks so attractive. It is the two storied Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Durga, who protects the gods from demons. Barahi temple is an important center of worship for all Hindu people. Visitors need to do certain minutes of boating to reach the temple.
2. Davis Fall:-
Davis fall is another charming attraction of Pokhara. It is located about 3 km west of Pokhara. Davis fall is also known as Patale Chhango in Nepali. Around 1961 one traveler lost from these waterfalls later its naming s Devis Falls. The site is renowned as a touristic place among domestic and international tourist. This fall has got a very unique shape and this is the main reason for being popular. Thousand of local and foreigner tourist visits this fall in a day. This place is also the beautiful photo spot as the landscape surrounds Davis fall is awesome.
This marvelous waterfall sits down at the south of Phewa Lake and it is in the George of Seti River. This is a very popular area known for its beauty also the legend Devi’s fall adds a touch of mystery to the site. Another interesting fact about this waterfall is that it comes from the Phewa Lake and rushes down the waterfall and disappears. As this site always remains open you can visit this place at any time. Monsoon season is the best time to visit here as the volume of water increased.
3. Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave:-
Gupteshwor cave is like another end of Davis Fall. Gupteshwor Mahadev cave is the most popular cave in Nepal. Guptshawor cave is one of the famous cave in Nepal which was discovered around in 16 century but the main entrance was constructed in 1991. It is also believed that it is the longest cave in Nepal. The cave is the sacred place for the Hindu pilgrims. Devotes from all parts of the country also from India comes to visit this Gupteshawor cave. You can see the statue of limestone Shivalinga inside the cave and it is believed that the statue is in the same position since it was explored. There is a small tunnel connecting the cave to Davis fall.
4. Mahendra Cave:-
Situated close to the bat cave Mahendra cave is one of the attractive cave in the Pokhara city. It is the major tourist spot and almost 95% of tourists go to visit the cave. The cave has got a variety of rocks especially limestone and the rock sparkle when light strikes on it. The stones of the cave floor beam the flashlights and increase the excitement of dark adventure. This is the most attractive part of the cave.
You will get to see the statue of Hindu Lord Shiva at the middle of the cave. The cave is named after the late King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. While exploring the cave torches and emergency lights are provided through it is lit up by bulbs. The tunnel of the cave leads to many other beautiful places. There is another bat cave nearby the bat cave where thousands of bats reside. Both of the caves are worth to visit.
5. Bindabasini Temple:-
Bindabasini temple is one of the oldest and the popular shrine of the Pokhara city. The temple is an important scared temple for Hindu people. The temple is located at the 3000 m above the sea level and locally the temple is known by Bhindhyabasini Mandir. The temple is beautifully designed and stands at the old bazaar of Pokhara valley. This temple is dedicated to goddess Durga also Kali. Lots of devotees come here for worshipping and also for the marriage ceremony.
The top area of the temple is also perfect for sightseeing. You can enjoy the awesome view of the city and the mountain ranges including Machhapuchhre and Annapurna. From this temple, you can take photos of beautiful vistas of Annapurna range. The temple has been successful to attract the major number of visitors towards it and more than a thousand people visit the Bindabasini temple. The beautiful Bindabasini temple is worth to visit.
6. World Peace Stupa:-
Seated at the top of the Raniban and southwest bank of Fewa Lake. It is the best site for visiting and bird’s eye view of Pokhara valley. There are hour main statues of Buddha in Peace Pagoda and all statues reflect four prominent stages of Buddha’s life. The first statue defines the birthplace of Buddha, Lumbini, Nepal. Second, he got enlightened in Bodhgaya, India. In third, he thought most in Sarnath. Fourth he reached nirvana, Kushinagar. A site is a perfect place for taking photos. From here you can have a clear view of Annapurna range.
7. International Mountaineering Museum:-
International Mountaineering Museum is another best destination for a day trip. The museum is truly amazing and has collections of past memories. The mountaineering museum features an excellent collection of flora and fauna, collected from the Himalayas and other regions. The museum is constructed in a huge area so it takes more time to explore the whole museum each and everything. You will also get to see the mountain models like Mount Manaslu and Mount Everest. This museum leads you to know about the different Himalayas. The museum makes you clear about the materials which were used for mountaineering in the past.
8. Gorkha Museum -
Gorkha soldiers joined in the British army since 1815 and later into the Indian army while India was independence 1947. Gorkha Museum was officially opened by Field Marshal Lord Harding on 21 June 1974 in England. Later on, in 1194 a Gorkha Museum was established in Kathmandu and later it moved to Pokhara in 2005 and now ad days it becomes the main attraction to the people. Gorkha museum is located in Pokhara, Nepal. Gorkha museum has collections about the history and photographs of the British army and India army. Museum has collection of Gorkhas their medal won, bravery medals uniforms, Gorkha Victoria crosses winners, etc. The museum displays many Photographs of the different Gorkhas who took part in their different regimental life.
9. Mahendra Cave -
Mahendra cave was discovered around in 1950 s by the young shepherd. Mahendra cave is the next to the famous cave in Pokhara. Mahendra cave its name coming from king Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah. Mahendra cave is located in Batulechaur, Pokhara. Mahendra cave has 200m length. This limestone of the cave is rarely caves found in Nepal. Mahendra cave is a natural tunnel which is illuminated artificial lighting mixtures with different types of rocks and glittering stones. So this cave is Mahendra cave is mian attraction for the tourist who is visiting in Pokhara.
10. Bats Cave –
Bat cave is close to Mahendra cave. Bat cave is also famous for Chemari gufa in Nepali languages. Bat cave is next natural cave in Pokhara. Bat cave is an inhabitant of many bats. Bats are hanging around the ceiling of Bats cave. We need light or r=touch to visit this Bats cave. There is a narrow path of the tunnel to come out from the Bat Cave. It is believed that doing rebirth while we passing from small tunes of Bat Cave.
11. Seti George-
Seti George is next natural wonders of Pokhara. Seti George is natural George in Pokhara we can see nice view from Mahendrapool and K.I Singh bridge at Bagar. Steve George is close located to Gorkha museum in Pokhara. Seti George carved deepest narrow turning with the milky water passes in the main city of Pokhara.
12. Tibetan refuse camp-
Once China captures in Tibet there were thousands of Tibetan exiles from their home Tibet to Nepal. There are 12 Tibetan refuses containment camp in Nepal among them 8 in Kathmandu and 4 are in Pokhara and surrounding. Tibetan refuse camp is close to the Guoteshawor cave. Tibetan refuse camp I famous for selling hand made jewelry, rings, woodcarving, carpets, clothing, bracelets and nacelles, Pashmina Thanka painting tec. Moreover, there are several Tibetan settlements found around in hillside of Pokhara.
13. Begnas Lake –
Begnas lake is 3rd largest lake in Nepal located in the southeast part of Pokhara. Begnas lake is a freshwater lake in Pokhara it’s around 15 kilometers far from center Pokhara. Begnas lake water regulated from Khudi Khola. Begnas lake is around 700 meter and the surface of this lake is 3.5 km square with the average depth is 7 to 10 meter. Many tourists visit Begnas lake every day.
