Description

Impressive multi-summited ridge at the eastern end of the Lumding Himal and above the Bhote Khosi River. Kwangde Peak Climbing is one of the difficult and technically challenging peaks which required technical skills. Different types of equipment like rope, ice crow, snow bar, etc. and previous climbing experience with good health & physical. Trekking to Koangde Peak Climbing provides you panoramic views of beautifully stunning mountains like Makalu (8485m\27838ft.). Mt. Everest (8848m\29028ft.), Cho- Oyu( 8188m\26864ft.) and many more. Looking for Kwangde Peak Climbing?

Kwangde Peak (6011m and 19721 fits) also known as Kangde Ri, Kwangde or Kwangdi Ri is an impressive feat for extreme climbers. This peak challenges beginners and excites amateurs. This mountain is located above the Bhote Koshi River and to the south-west of Namche Bazaar. Nepal Mountaineering Association classified Kwangde Peak as a group “B” climbing peak. The first attempt was made in 1975 by the Nepalese expedition which was led by Kumar Khagdar and Bikram Shah. However, the successful summit was made by Lhakpa Tenzing, Sonam, Gyalzen, Shambhu Tamang and Sonam Hisi though south ridge.

Similarly, trip cumulates jaw-dropping & panoramic view of giant Himalayan peaks including Mt. Makalu in the east, Everest, Cho Oyu and Rolwaling in the northwest. Experience of past climbers, Kwandge Peak climbing is said to be strenuous which requires preparation. Thus, good physical fitness and previous climbing experience are required. Although both the route of the North & South face is extremely demanding. If you are up for adventurous experience in the Himalayan peak, you should find this peak appealing to kill the appetite.

First, our trip starts from Kathmandu with Flight to Lukla followed next. Then we trek to Phakding while gradually gaining altitude. We reach Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and then we hike to Kwangde Base Camp. From the base camp, we step up to High Camp where you get basics about climbing and proper measures to take in case of emergency. After our successful summit, we trek down to Namche Bazaar & trek to Lukla. In the end, Lukla, we take a flight straight to Kathmandu. This flight another most mention highlight of this trip because you get to see an amazing view of hills, rivers, and different mountains. We finally arrive at Kathmandu – you can take rest while we organize the last dinner in Kathmandu.

 

Itinerary

Welcome to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal! Our airport representatives welcome you and transfer you to designated Hotel. Late in the evening, we organize small meet-up to introduce with climbing guides and other staffs and to discuss about the upcoming adventure.

We do sightseeing around Kathmandu along with the preparation for climbing. Sightseeing includes tour around Swayambhunath (monkey temple), Bauddhanath (Buddhastupa), Pashupatinath/Biggest Hindu Temple & Patan Durbar Square. We pack all the necessary equipments after the approval of licensed climbing guide before heading for climb.

We take dramatic flight to Lukla, one of the best parts of the trip. Lukla is famous as the village of Sherpa’s. Upon arrival, we arrange loads and commence our journey further ahead. Journey passes through Dudh Koshi (“Milk River”), and finally after hours of trek we reach to Phakding. Here, you can take rest to acclimatize or visit local monastery nearby. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner with tea or coffee and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge or tented camp.

From Phakding, we trek to Namchhe Bazaar. The trail is uphill with downhill combined of crossing rivers and bridges. This way, our trekking permits are checked and pass some famous suspension bridge as well. Namche Bazaar is the main administrative and trading centre for the Khumbu region. With the inclusive of magnificent forests of blue pine, fir, juniper and rhododendron as well as first view of Everest, it helps you to control the anticipation of the thrilling journey. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner with tea or coffee and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge or tented camp.

We acclimatize in Namchhe Bazaar to adjust our body in new environment. Expert says that instead of sitting idle for whole day, we should be active all day. Therefore, we hike up to the valley of Bhote Koshi River and visit the nearby monasteries. You can meet locals and learn their ethnicity and lifestyle. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner with tea or coffee and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge or tented camp.

Descending steeply downward we take slow walk across the rocky terrain. Then we cross the suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi and take quite and charming route. The trail is same as we trekked uphill but the sceneries appear different and the rhododendron & pine forest makes this trail even interesting. You can see Sherpa culture with prayer stones and flags in the monasteries once you arrive Lukla. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner with tea or coffee and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge or tented camp.

We take scenic flight back to Kathmandu. And maybe you can do shopping or buy souvenirs for your friends and family. Or better you can relax, have some massage and dine the best meals of the city in some of the best restaurants. Meals included: Breakfast and finally an overnight stay in hotel. Attend the evening dinner and cultural program provided by the company.

After winding up a successful trip, our representative drops you off to the airport for your further journey. You are dropped to the airport around 3 hours before the departure so that there may not be any delays. Have a safe journey!

  • Trekking Group Size

    We organize trekking in Kanchenjunga region for any number of people. If the group consists of more than 16 pax, we will split the group and arrange accordingly. We will assign one trek leader, one assistant leader for the group of four pax and porters (one porter between two members ) to carry members luggage. This arrangement ensures that the group can still go ahead as scheduled itinerary despite any member gets sick on the way in the trekking.
  • Experience and Health Requirements

    Kanchenjunga trekking is considered a moderate trek suitable for those who can hike for 5 – 7 hours a day. Obviously hiking in the high altitude will not be so easy rather physically more demanding, however our itinerary is scheduled for the proper acclimatization while gradually gaining the altitude in the trekking. It will be advisable to have some walking and hiking or other outdoor activities for more than two weeks which will contribute to comfortable accomplishment in reaching Kanchenjunga No technical skills or use of crampons are required for this trekking. It is highly recommended for the trekkers to consult with the doctors before coming for this trekking. Trekkers who have asthma, allergy or any other diseases related to hurt, lungs should take more precaution for this trekking.
  • Travel Insurance

    Trekkers need to have traveling insurance which covers the comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and medical treatment costs). Insurance companies in Nepal do not provide travelling insurance for the foreigners and the trekkers need to get the travelling insurance from one of the international insurance companies. Sunrise Adventure Trek will have accident insurance for the trekking staff.
  • Accommodations

    Accommodation in Kathmandu will be arranged on twin sharing basis on BB plan except the extra cost for the single supplement (depending on the room availability ) according to the choice of the standard of the hotels before and after the trekking. Accommodation during the trekking will be arranged at standard teahouses/ lodges with unheated rooms with wooden beds and foam mattresses on twin sharing basis. The trekkers will have to share washing and toilet facilities. If the trekker is a solo traveler, he/she will have to share a room with the trekker of same sex.
  • Meals

    Trekkers are provided three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during Kanchenjunga trekking. They can enjoy wide variety of food from typical Nepali food, Tibetan food to all types of international cuisine (Continental, Italian, and Indian.). Unlike other trekking companies, Sunrise AdventureTrek allows trekkers to choose the food from the menu at the hotel / lodges in the trek. When the group is too big for the hotels/ lodges to provide individual dishes, set menu will be arranged in most places. We use the lodges / hotels which serve hygienic, nutritious and good food for the trekkers for them to get enough energy for the hiking.
  • Acclimatization

    Any trekker can get altitude sickness while trekking in the high altitude despite strong physically fitness. What is important is giving enough time for the proper acclimatization for the trekking. Sunrise Adventure Trek has planned the itinerary with gradual altitude gain giving enough time for acclimatization for the trekkers. Hiking slowly specially in the high altitude help prevent AMS ( Acute Mountain Sickness ). If anyone feels dizzy, suffer palpitation or severe headaches and loss of appetite, he / she will be moved to the lower altitude immediately or arrange the helicopter rescue in the severe case of AMS and the client has to pay for it.

    A variety of clothing is necessary for the Kanchenjunga trek. While choosing the equipment trekkers need give emphasis on two simple aspects: Lightweight and Functional. The items should be lightweight, dependable, and adaptable to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The quality of the trekking equipment you choose has a lot to do with how warm, dry, and safe you will remain. For this reason you have to be critical of quality and the proper fit of clothing.

  • Porter Care

    We are strongly committed to the porters rights. We make sure that they are well paid and have the proper clothing, foot ware and shelter. We are aware that no porter should be asked to carry a load that is too heavy for their physical abilities and the weight limit should be adjusted for altitude, weather and trail condition. We request our members not to have more than 15 kg weight of luggage to give to the porters. Porters who become sick while in the trekking are treated with high priority just like the other trekking staff or the members. If needed helicopter is sent and rescued in case of sever condition of sickness or accident. All porters are insured for sickness and accident.
  • Season

    Nepal, as a tourist destination is good for all seasons, however, the best seasons for trekking to Kanchenjunga region are Spring (March – May) and Autumn (mid Sept. – mid Dec. ). Trekking in autumn season is noted for clear weather and excellent views of silvery mountains against blue sky. It gets colder towards the end of December. This trek can be done in any month except January and February.
